Through Industry Immersion, students connect with industry leaders, alumni and employers through day trips, overnight excursions or 5-day travel programs during school breaks. C&IS faculty and staff lead each trip and offer guidance to participants, helping them land job or internship interviews that can change their lives.
It's your career. How will you begin?
Before the trip.
To prepare, participants are required to engage in orientation and complete assigned industry research and trade readings. Orientation covers trip expectations, safety, networking strategy, communication guidelines and how to prepare to meet an employer.
During the trip.
Industry Immersion begins with a broad strokes overview of the industry. Students will then delve into the companies from the trip's itinerary, including work culture and tips for pursuing a job. Daily schedules during each trip are intensive and motivating.
After the trip.
Students are encouraged to stay in-touch with the connections they make during their Industry Immersion trip. Ask questions, seek feedback and apply to open positions.
